The moderation queue
Approve, reject, edit, or delete reviews from the admin
Every review submitted to your store starts as pending in the moderation queue. You decide what gets published, what gets fixed, and what gets rejected. The queue lives at the Reviews page in your app admin.
Finding pending reviews
Open the Reviews page from the app's main nav. The default view shows all reviews; filter by status at the top to see only pending ones. You'll get an email when a new review arrives if New review notifications is on (see Merchant notifications).
Available actions
Click any review to open its detail page. From there:
- Approve — publishes the review to the storefront immediately
- Reject — hides it from the storefront. The review stays in your records but customers never see it.
- Unpublish — for an already-approved review, removes it from the storefront without deleting it
- Republish — un-rejects or un-unpublishes
- Edit — fix typos, remove personal info, or tighten wording before publishing
- Reply — add a public response that shows under the review on the storefront. See Replying to reviews.
- Delete — permanently removes the review (use sparingly — once it's gone, it's gone)
Bulk actions
On the Reviews index, select multiple reviews using the checkboxes and use Approve, Reject, or Delete to handle them in one go. Useful for catching up after a backlog or after importing a CSV.
Filtering and search
The Reviews page supports:
- Status — pending / approved / rejected / unpublished
- Rating — 1 through 5 stars
- With photos — only show reviews that have at least one photo
- Verified only — only show reviews tied to a real order
- Search — by author name, email, review title, or review body
Combine these to spot specific reviews fast — for example, "pending + 1 star + with photos" to surface low-rating reviews that need extra attention.
