Editing email subject and body

Customize the wording of review request and reminder emails

Every email the app sends — request, reminder, merchant notifications — has a template you can edit. Tweak the wording, add your brand voice, and use placeholders that auto-fill with each customer's details.

Where templates live

In the app, go to Settings > Email Templates. You'll see a list of all editable emails:

  • Review request — the initial post-purchase ask
  • Review reminder — the follow-up nudge
  • Photo review thank-you — sent after a photo review with the discount code (when enabled)
  • New review notification — internal alert to you when a review arrives
  • Negative review alert — internal alert when a review is at or below your threshold

Click any template to open the editor.

Editing a template

For each template you can edit:

  • Subject line — what shows in the inbox
  • Heading — large text at the top of the email
  • Message body — the main content
  • Button text — what's on the call-to-action button (where applicable)

Save and the changes apply to every email sent from that point on. To revert, click Reset to default.

Placeholders

You can insert dynamic values that auto-fill per customer. Available placeholders depend on the template:

  • {{customer_first_name}} — first name (falls back to "there" if unknown)
  • {{product_name}} — the product they ordered (first product if multiple)
  • {{order_number}} — the order number with prefix (#1234)
  • {{shop_name}} — your store name
  • {{review_link}} — the secure one-click review link (request and reminder emails only)

Just type the placeholder inline — Hi {{customer_first_name}}, how was your {{product_name}}? — and it gets replaced when the email is sent.

Preview

Each template editor includes a live preview with sample values so you can see the formatting before saving.

Keep it short

The highest-converting review request emails are 2–3 sentences plus a button. Long, formal emails get skipped. Lead with "how was the product?" and end with one clear call to action.
