Sending from your own address or domain
Verify your email address (or whole domain) so requests come from your store
By default, review request emails come from our shared sending address. That works, but customers respond better to emails that look like they're from your store directly. Verifying your own sender address (or your whole domain) keeps emails out of spam folders and builds trust.
Why verification matters
Without verification, emails go out from a shared address with your store name as the display name. Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail show a small warning ("via pasilobus.com") that suggests the email might not really be from you. Verified senders show clean — just your store name and address.
Verified senders also have better inbox placement, fewer trips to spam, and higher open rates across the board.
Verifying a single email address
Fastest option, no DNS access required.
- In the app, go to Settings > Sender Email
- Enter the address you want emails to come from (for example,
hello@yourstore.com) - Click Verify
- Check that inbox — you'll get a confirmation email with a single link to click
Once you click the link, the address is verified and immediately becomes the sender for all review request and reminder emails. You can re-verify if you ever want to change the address.
Verifying a whole domain
Better long-term option — you can send from any address at your domain, plus deliverability is stronger.
- In the app, go to Settings > Sender Domain
- Enter your domain (for example,
yourstore.com) - The app generates three DNS records to add (typically CNAMEs for DKIM)
- Add them through your DNS provider (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
- Click Verify domain — the app checks the records and confirms
Once a domain is verified, any sender at that domain (hello@, support@, reviews@) works without extra steps.
What happens if you don't verify
The app falls back to a shared sender address. Emails still go out, but with the "via" notice. You can leave it on the default forever — verification is optional but recommended.
