Importing reviews from another app
Bring existing reviews from Judge.me, Loox, or any source via CSV
Switching from another review app? You don't have to start from zero. The app accepts a CSV import of existing reviews — Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, Stamped, or any other source you can export from. Imported reviews are auto-approved and published immediately.
Where to import
In the app, go to the Reviews page and click Import. You'll be prompted to upload a CSV file.
CSV format
The CSV must have a header row. These columns are required:
product_id— the Shopify product ID the review is forrating— integer 1 through 5author— reviewer name (a "name" column also works)email— reviewer email (used for verified purchase matching)body— the review text (a "review" column also works)
Optional columns:
title— review titledate— submission date (any standard format; defaults to today if missing)
Extra columns are ignored, so you can keep them in your source export.
Getting your product IDs
Shopify product IDs are the long numeric ID, not the handle. To get them:
- In Shopify Admin, open a product
- Look at the URL — the ID is the long number (for example,
/admin/products/7654321098765)
If your source export uses product handles instead of IDs, you'll need to map them. The easiest way is to export your Shopify products list, look up each handle, and add the matching ID to your review CSV before uploading.
What happens after upload
The import runs in the background:
- Each row becomes a review on the matching product
- All imported reviews are marked approved and published (visible on the storefront immediately)
- The source is marked as import so you can identify them later in admin filters
- Average ratings on each product are recalculated and synced to Shopify metafields
The Reviews page refreshes when the import completes. Larger imports (1000+ rows) may take a couple of minutes.
Re-running an import safely
If you re-upload the same CSV, duplicate detection prevents the same review (same product + same email) from being added twice. So it's safe to re-run after fixing a column.
