Installing and setting up

Getting reviews live takes three steps: install the app, add the review widget to your theme, and confirm the storefront. Most stores are collecting reviews within a few minutes — no theme code edits required.

Install the app

Add the app from the Shopify App Store. It opens inside your Shopify admin alongside your other apps. The first time you open it, a setup wizard walks you through enabling the app embed and adding the widget.

Enable the app embed

The app embed loads the small JavaScript and CSS needed by every widget. It also auto-injects star rating badges under product cards on collection and search pages.

• Click Set up theme in the setup wizard, or go to Online Store > Themes > Customize
• In the theme editor, open App embeds in the left sidebar
• Toggle Product Reviews on and Save

Add the review widget to product pages

• Open a Product template in the theme editor
• Click Add block in the product section and choose Product Reviews from the Apps list
• Drag it to where reviews should appear (typically below the product description)
• Save

You only need to do this once — the widget appears on every product.

Add the star rating badge (optional)

For a compact star badge near the Add to Cart button:

• In the same product template, click Add block and choose Star Rating Badge
• Place it where it fits — often right under the product title or price
• Save

Confirm it's working

Visit any product on your storefront. You should see the Customer Reviews section with an empty state ("Be the first to review this product") and a Write a review button. If you don't see it, open Troubleshooting → "The review widget isn't appearing on the product page."
