Collection page star badges (app embed)

The app embed is a small JavaScript and CSS bundle that loads on every page of your storefront. It does two things: powers the interactive parts of the review widgets (form submission, AJAX loading) and auto-injects star rating badges under product cards on collection, search, and home pages — without any theme code edits.

Enabling the app embed

• Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize
• Open App embeds in the left sidebar
• Toggle Product Reviews on
• Save

You only need to do this once per theme. If you switch themes, enable the embed on the new theme.

Collection page badges

When the app embed is on, the widget automatically scans product cards on your collection, search, and home pages and adds a small star rating badge under each card. The badge only appears for products that have at least one approved review — products without reviews stay clean.

The settings on the app embed control this:

• Show star ratings on collection pages — turn the feature on or off entirely
• Badge position — below product title, below price, or above the title
• Badge star size — 10–20px

When badges don't show

A few reasons a badge might not appear:

• The product has zero approved reviews yet
• Your theme's product card markup doesn't include the rating metafield reference (most modern themes do; older themes may need a small edit)
• The app embed itself isn't enabled — double-check App embeds in the theme editor

What's NOT covered by the embed

The product page widget, star rating badge, review carousel, and happy customers page are all separate blocks you add individually in the theme editor. The app embed only powers the storefront JavaScript and the collection badge injection — it doesn't add visible blocks on its own.
