Audit Stuck or Failed

What to do when an audit keeps running or shows Failed

Audits usually finish within a few minutes. Here's what to do if one seems stuck or shows Failed.

A running audit refreshes the page by itself

While an audit runs, its page shows Running… this page refreshes by itself. You don't need to reload. A large store can take several minutes for the content audit, and longer for a broken link scan.

One audit of each kind at a time

If you click the button again while an audit is running, you'll see This audit is already running. You can run different audits (for example the content audit and the broken link scan) at the same time.

An audit that never finishes

If an audit has been running for more than two hours, it's treated as stuck. Click the button again and a new audit starts in its place.

Failed audits

If an audit shows Failed, wait a minute and try again. Audits can fail when Shopify is briefly unavailable, or when the app has lost access to your store (for example right after reinstalling). If it keeps failing, contact support.

Fewer items than expected

Each plan audits up to a set number of items: 150 on Free, 2,000 on Growth, 20,000 on Pro and unlimited on Plus. If your store has more, SEO Turbo audits the most recently updated items. The SEO content page shows your plan limit. See Plans and Pricing.

Items that are unpublished are still audited, and show Hidden.
