Translations
Edit the wording shoppers see in any of your store's languages
Every message the bar shows is editable, and each of your store's languages has its own set. The defaults are neutral English; you can make them match your brand's voice, mention a delivery promise, or translate them for shoppers who browse in another language. Wording is managed in the app under Settings > Translations and applies to every placement.
The Messages
- Empty cart — "Free shipping on orders over {{goal}}". Shown by the top bar when the cart is empty and the empty-cart teaser is on.
- Progress — "Add {{remaining}} more to unlock free shipping". The top bar while the cart is below the goal.
- Unlocked — "You've unlocked free shipping!". Any placement once the goal is reached.
- Always free — "Free shipping on every order". Countries with an unconditional free rate.
- Not available — "Free shipping isn't available for {{country}} yet. Shipping is calculated at checkout." Countries with no free shipping, when the bar is set to show a message.
- Product page — would unlock — "Add this item to unlock free shipping".
- Product page — progress — "{{remaining}} away from free shipping".
- Cart — progress — "You're {{remaining}} away from free shipping".
- Cart — unlocked — "🎉 You're getting free shipping!".
- Milestone — progress — "Add {{remaining}} more to get {{reward}}" (Premium).
- Milestone — unlocked — "You've unlocked {{reward}}!" (Premium).
- Close — The label of the close button on a dismissible bar, read by screen readers.
Placeholders
The parts in double curly braces are filled in for each shopper. Keep them in your wording wherever you want the value to appear; you can move them or leave one out.
- {{goal}} — The free shipping threshold, formatted in the shopper's currency.
- {{remaining}} — How much more the shopper needs to add.
- {{total}} — The current cart total being compared.
- {{country}} — The name of the shopper's country.
- {{reward}} — The milestone reward you entered, for milestone messages.
Editing Wording
Open Settings > Translations. Each language is listed with its messages; click a message to edit it and save. Changes reach your storefront within moments.
You don't need more than one language to use this page. Many stores keep only English and simply reword the defaults — "Spend {{remaining}} more and shipping's on us" reads very differently from the default.
Adding a Language
Click Add language and choose from the list. The new language starts with a ready-made translation of every message, which you can adjust. The storefront picks the set that matches the language the shopper is browsing your store in, and falls back to your default language when there is no match. Translations are available on every plan, in 21 languages.
Tips
- Keep it short — The top bar is one line. Long messages wrap on mobile and push the progress bar down.
- Say what happens next — Wording like "Add {{remaining}} more for free shipping — applied at checkout" answers the question shoppers actually have.
- Be honest in the unavailable message — It's the one message shoppers in a country without free shipping will see. "We're working on free shipping to {{country}}" is better than silence, and better than a goal they can't reach.
