A purchase option is the subscription offer customers see and subscribe to. Creating one takes just a few fields: a name, the products it applies to, and at least one delivery frequency. You can start from a template to save time, or build one from scratch for full control.
Start from a template or from scratch
From a template - Pick Subscribe & Save, Subscription Only, Prepaid, or Commit & Save to begin with sensible defaults already filled in, then adjust.
From scratch - Begin with a blank option when you want to set everything yourself.
Either way you land on the same editor, so you can change anything a template pre-filled.
Name the option and add products
Give the option a clear internal name (for example, “Coffee — Subscribe & Save”). Then add the products it should apply to. The subscribe choice will appear on those product pages once the widget is added to your theme.
Add frequency options
Every option needs at least one delivery frequency — how often the order repeats, like every month or every 2 weeks. You can add several so customers choose the cadence that suits them. See “Delivery frequency options” for details.
Set pricing and terms
From the same editor you can:
Turn a discount on or off and choose its type and amount.
Add an intro price for the first orders.
Set subscription terms — minimum or maximum cycles, what customers can self-manage, and shipping lead time.
Save and see it live
Save the option, then open one of its products on your storefront to confirm the subscribe choice appears with the right frequency and savings. Edits you make later take effect on new subscriptions and, where relevant, on existing ones.
