Templates are pre-built purchase options that give you a working subscription in one click. Each one is a proven model with sensible defaults already filled in — you pick the closest fit, add your products, and adjust anything you like. Starting from a template is faster than building from scratch and helps you avoid missing a setting.
The four templates
Subscribe & Save - The classic subscription: recurring deliveries with an ongoing discount. Best for everyday consumables customers reorder (coffee, supplements, pet food).
Subscription Only - The same recurring model, but the product is offered only as a subscription — the one-time purchase option is hidden. Use it for products you don’t want sold as a single purchase.
Prepaid - The customer pays once up front to cover several deliveries. Good when you want commitment and cash flow, or for gift-style runs (“3 months of coffee”).
Commit & Save - A larger discount in exchange for a minimum number of orders. Use it when a deeper discount is worth locking in a commitment.
You can change anything afterward
A template is only a starting point. After you create one, you can change the discount, add or remove delivery frequencies, adjust the commitment length, turn the discount off entirely, or add an intro price for the first orders. Nothing about a template is fixed.
Not sure which to pick?
Start with Subscribe & Save — it’s the model shoppers expect and it covers most stores. You can always create additional options later for products that need a different approach.
