Multilingual Error Messages

Customize error messages in 21 languages

When quantity limits are enforced, customers see error messages like "Minimum quantity is 5" or "You can add at most 10 of this item." Translations let you customize these messages in multiple languages to match your store's locale.

The app supports 21 languages out of the box, and messages are shown automatically based on your customer's browser language or your store's language settings.

Editing Error Messages

  • Go to Settings > Translations
  • Select the language you want to edit
  • Each message type has a default text that you can customize:
    • Minimum quantity message – Shown when a customer tries to buy fewer than the minimum
    • Maximum quantity message – Shown when a customer tries to exceed the maximum
    • Step quantity message – Shown when the quantity is not a valid multiple
    • Cart limit messages – Shown on the cart page when cart-level limits are not met
  • Edit the text and save

Messages support dynamic placeholders like {min}, {max}, and {step} that are replaced with the actual values from your rules.

Where Messages Appear

  • Product page – Inline message near the quantity selector
  • Cart page – Banner above the checkout button
  • Checkout – Shopify's checkout validation error area

Default Behavior

If you do not customize any messages, the app uses sensible defaults in English. If your store uses Shopify Markets with multiple languages, the app automatically picks the right translation.
