Wishlist data is most useful outside the app — in a spreadsheet you sort by demand, an email tool you segment with, or the system you plan restocks in. The export gives you every saved product with the customer who saved it, as a CSV.
Export your wishlists
Go to Wishlist > Wishlists
Click Export CSV at the top of the page
Tick Wishlists, Gift registries, or both
Click Download CSV
Wishlists are the lists shoppers save for themselves. Gift registries are lists built for an occasion and shared with guests — if you haven’t turned registries on, that box is greyed out and every list you have is a wishlist.
Large exports arrive by email
Up to 50,000 rows the file downloads straight away. Above that the page offers Email me the export instead: enter the address the link should go to, and we build the file in the background and email you when it’s done — usually within a few minutes.
The link in the email works for seven days, then the file is deleted. Request a new export if you need it again after that
Anyone with the link can download the file, so forward it with the same care as the data itself
Only one export builds at a time. If you request another while one is in progress, you’ll be told the first is still on its way
If the build fails you get an email saying so; request it again from the same page
What’s in the file
One row per saved product, not per list, so a customer with eight items appears eight times. Each row carries:
Customer email, name, ID - who saved it
Customer type - Customer if they were signed in, Guest if not. Guests have no Shopify customer record, so this tells you which rows you can match against your customer list
List name, type, event type, event date - which list it came from, and for registries what the occasion is
Product, SKU, variant, handle - what was saved
Quantity and Purchased quantity - how many they want, and for registries how many guests have already bought
Price when added - what it cost at the moment they saved it, which is what price-drop alerts compare against
Added at - when it was saved
What you can do with it
Restock planning - sort by product to see what’s wanted most, including items that are out of stock
Email segmentation - filter to one product and upload those addresses as an audience
Registry fulfilment - compare quantity against purchased quantity to see what’s still needed
Price-drop campaigns - compare price when added against today’s price
Notes
Deleted lists aren’t included
There is no row limit. Files over 50,000 rows are emailed rather than downloaded (see above)
Customers can also export their own single list from their wishlist page, which is a shorter file with just product, SKU and quantity
