If shipping rates are not loading during the split shipping flow, the issue is usually related to your Shopify shipping configuration or the address entered by the customer.
Shipping zones not configured
Multi Ship fetches rates from your existing Shopify shipping zones. If a customer’s address falls outside any of your defined shipping zones, no rates will be available. Go to Settings > Shipping and delivery in your Shopify admin and make sure your shipping zones cover all regions you want to ship to.
Invalid address
Shipping rates cannot be calculated for incomplete or invalid addresses. Make sure the customer has entered a full address including city, state/province, postal code, and country. If the address is missing required fields, the rate lookup will fail.
Shipping profiles
If you use multiple shipping profiles in Shopify, make sure the products in the split shipment are assigned to a profile that covers the destination address. Products without a matching shipping profile will not return rates.
Rate limits
If many customers are using split shipping simultaneously, rate lookups may occasionally be delayed. This is rare but can happen during flash sales or peak traffic. Rates should load after a brief wait.
Third-party rate apps
If you use a third-party app for calculated shipping rates (like real-time carrier rates), make sure that app is working correctly. Multi Ship relies on whatever rates Shopify returns, so issues with rate providers will affect the split shipping flow as well.
Test with a simple address
To isolate the problem, try a split shipment with a well-known domestic address. If rates load for that address but not others, the issue is likely with the specific address or shipping zone coverage.
