When a customer splits their cart across multiple addresses, Multi Ship needs to present those items at Shopify’s checkout. The checkout display mode controls how split shipments appear on the checkout page.

Bundle mode

Items for each address are grouped into a single bundle line item at checkout. Instead of listing every product separately, the customer sees one entry per address (for example, “Shipment to 123 Main St - 3 items”). This keeps the checkout page clean when orders have many items.

Individual mode

Each product appears as its own line item at checkout, just like a normal order. Items are labeled with their destination address so the customer can verify which items go where. This mode is more transparent and works best when customers want to see every product listed.

When to use each mode

Use Bundle mode if your customers tend to split large carts with many items, as it reduces visual clutter at checkout. Use Individual mode if your customers prefer to see each product listed separately, or if your products have variants that are important to verify before payment.

Where to configure

Go to Settings > Checkout to choose between Bundle and Individual mode. The change takes effect immediately for new split shipping sessions.
