If your product options aren’t appearing on product pages, don’t worry—it’s usually a quick fix. Most issues come down to the app embed being disabled, the block not being added, or products not being assigned to an option group.

Check the App Embed

The most common cause is the app embed being disabled:

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes

  2. Click Customize on your active theme

  3. Click App embeds in the left sidebar

  4. Look for Product Options

  5. Make sure the toggle is ON

  6. Click Save

If Product Options doesn’t appear in app embeds, try reinstalling the app.

Verify Block Placement

Even with the embed enabled, you need the app block on product pages:

  1. In theme editor, select Products > Default product from the page dropdown

  2. Look for the Product Options block in the product section

  3. If missing, click Add block > Apps > Product Options

  4. Position it where you want options to appear (typically near Add to Cart)

  5. Click Save

Check Product Targeting

Options only appear on products assigned to an option group:

  1. Open your option group in the app

  2. Check the application scope:

    • If “All products” — options should appear everywhere

    • If “Specific products” — verify the product is in the list

  3. Add the product if it’s missing

Verify Options Exist

An empty option group won’t display anything:

  1. Open the option group

  2. Confirm it has at least one option

  3. Check that options aren’t all set to “Hidden” type

  4. Ensure no conditions are hiding all options

Theme Compatibility

Some themes may need adjustments:

  • Outdated themes - May not support app blocks. Update to the latest version.

  • Custom themes - Verify the theme uses Online Store 2.0 features and includes app block zones in product templates.

  • Third-party themes - Check theme documentation for app compatibility.

Cache Clearing

Browser or CDN cache can show old versions:

  • Browser cache - Press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)

  • Shopify cache - Make a small edit in theme code, save, then revert

  • CDN cache - Purge cache in your CDN dashboard if using one

Still Not Working?

If options still don’t show:

  1. Check browser console for JavaScript errors

  2. Disable other apps temporarily to test for conflicts

  3. Try a different browser or incognito mode

  4. Contact our support with your store URL
