Short Links by Pasilobus is a powerful URL shortener built specifically for Shopify stores. This guide walks you through installing and setting up the app.
Installing from the Shopify App Store
Visit the Short Links app listing on the Shopify App Store
Click Add app to begin the installation
Review the app permissions and click Install app
The app will be added to your Shopify admin automatically.
App Permissions
When you install the app, Shopify will ask you to approve certain permissions. Short Links requires access to:
Store content - To create and manage your shortened URLs
Themes - To set up the redirect proxy for your short links
Products - To link shortened URLs to specific products (optional)
These permissions are standard for link management apps and are handled securely through Shopify’s OAuth system.
Verifying the App is Working
After installation, verify everything is set up correctly:
Open the Short Links app from your Shopify admin
Create a test short link by entering any URL
Copy the generated short link
Open the short link in a new browser tab
Confirm you are redirected to the destination URL
If the redirect works, your app is properly installed and ready to use.
