What You Need

An active Shopify store
Admin access to install apps

What to Expect

Product Options integrates seamlessly with your store. The app won't make any changes to your existing products until you're ready.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Install from Shopify App Store

Visit the Product Options listing in the Shopify App Store
Click the Install button
Review the permissions the app needs
Click Install

Step 2: Authorize the App

Product Options needs these permissions to work:

Read and write products - To add options to your product pages
Read orders - To show you which options customers selected
Read store data - To display your products and collections

Click Install to authorize these permissions.

Step 3: Add App Block

After installation, you'll need to add the app into your theme:

Go to Online Store → Themes in your Shopify admin
Click Customize on your active theme
In the theme editor, go to the Product Page
Click Add Section in the sidebar
Find Product Options from the App Block list
Add the Product Options to the page
Click Save

Why is this needed? The app block allows Product Options to display on your product pages without modifying your theme code.

After Installation

Take a Quick Tour

The dashboard shows:

Option Groups - Where you organize your options
Products - Which products have options applied
Galleries - File Gallery from pre-uploaded images
Settings - Configure app preferences

Troubleshooting Installation

"App won't install" Error

Solution: Make sure you're logged in as a staff member with full admin permissions. Only store owners and staff with app installation permissions can add apps.

Options Don't Appear on Product Pages

Solution: Check that the app block is added to your product page in theme settings (see Step 3 above).

"Permission Denied" Message

Solution: The app needs specific permissions to function. If you denied permissions during installation, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall the app, accepting all permissions.
