Per-Store Alerts with Nearby Stock

Let shoppers ask to hear when an item is back at their own store

If you also use our Nearby Stock app, Restock Alerts can alert shoppers when an item is back at the store they chose, not just when it is back somewhere. It turns on by itself: there is nothing to connect or configure.

What shoppers see

  • Nearby Stock lets shoppers pick their store. When they have picked one, the signup form on your product page reads "Notify me when it's back at Pearl District" instead of the usual wording.
  • A link under the form lets them switch to Any store instead, and back to Only at Pearl District.
  • If they change their store in Nearby Stock, the form follows straight away.
  • Shoppers who have not picked a store, and stores without Nearby Stock, see the form exactly as before.

How the alerts are sent

  • A shopper who asked for one store is emailed only when that store's stock for the variant goes above zero. Stock arriving at another location does not trigger their alert.
  • Shoppers who chose any store are emailed as soon as the variant is back at any location, as always.
  • Store alerts say where the item is: the subject reads "Back in stock at Pearl District", and the email and SMS name the store.

Per-store waitlists in Campaigns

  • Signups for the same variant and the same store are grouped into one campaign, so each store has its own waitlist.
  • In Campaigns, a store badge shows which store a campaign is for. Campaigns without a badge are for any store.
  • The store also appears on the campaign page, and in customer data exports.

Custom subjects and templates

  • If you write your own email subject, you can include the store name with {location_name}.
  • In custom email templates, use {{location_name}}.
  • For alerts without a store, both are left empty.

Plans

  • Per-store alerts are included on every Restock Alerts plan and every Nearby Stock plan.
  • Each email counts toward your monthly alert allowance, the same as any other alert.
