Creating Your First Listing
A listing groups related products together and lets customers switch between them using options like Color, Size, or Material. Each product in the listing is a separate Shopify product, but they appear connected on the storefront through shared option selectors.
Step 1: Start a New Listing
From the dashboard, click Create listing. This opens the listing form.
Step 2: Name the Listing
Enter a name in the Listing name field. This is for your reference in the dashboard and does not appear on the storefront. Choose something descriptive, like “Classic T-Shirt” or “Leather Wallet Collection”.
Step 3: Add Options
Options define how customers choose between products. For example, a Color option lets them pick Red, Blue, or Green.
Click Add option in the Options section
Enter an option name (e.g. “Color”)
Select a Display type to control how it appears on the storefront:
Dropdown – a select menu with product previews
Radio Buttons – clickable list items
Text Swatch – pill-shaped buttons showing the value text
Color Swatch – small color squares
Image Swatch – product image thumbnails
Optionally select a different Mobile display type for small screens
For a single differentiator (just Color, or just Size), one option is enough.
Step 4: Add Products
Click Add products in the Products section
The Shopify product picker opens – search and select the products you want to combine
Each selected product appears in the form with fields for its option values
Step 5: Assign Option Values
For each product, fill in the value for every option. For example, if your option is “Color”:
Product A: Red
Product B: Blue
Product C: Green
Each product must have a unique combination of values across all options. If you have two options (Color and Size), no two products can share the same Color + Size pair.
For Color Swatch display types, you can also set a hex color code using the color picker next to the value field.
Step 6: Save and Activate
Click Save to create the listing. New listings start in Draft status. To make the listing visible on your storefront:
Go back to the dashboard
Click the status badge next to the listing
Select Active
The app syncs the listing data to Shopify. Visit any of the listing’s product pages to see the option selectors in action.
Tips:
Start with two or three products to get familiar with the flow before building larger listings.
If you are unsure which display type to choose, Dropdown works well as a starting point for any option.
You can always edit a listing later to add more products or change display types.
