Upgrade to a paid plan to unlock analytics, UTM Passthrough, and advanced features. This guide walks you through the upgrade process.

Accessing the Pricing Page

There are several ways to access pricing:

From the App

  1. Open Short Links app

  2. Click Settings in the navigation

  3. Look for the billing or plan section

  4. Click View Plans or Manage Subscription

From Upgrade Prompts

Throughout the app, you’ll see upgrade prompts when trying to access paid features:

  • On the Reports page (free plan)

  • In UTM Passthrough settings (free plan)

  • These include View Plans buttons

From Dashboard

If you’re on a free plan, the dashboard may show an upgrade banner highlighting premium features.

Plan Selection

On the pricing page, you’ll see available plans:

Compare Options

Review feature differences between plans:

  • Analytics and reporting

  • UTM Passthrough

  • Support level

Select Your Plan

Click on your preferred plan to proceed. Each plan shows:

  • Monthly price

  • Key features included

  • What’s different from other plans

Annual vs Monthly

If annual billing is available, it typically offers savings. Consider:

  • Monthly: flexibility to cancel anytime

  • Annual: cost savings over 12 months

Billing Through Shopify

Short Links uses Shopify’s billing system for seamless subscription management:

How It Works

  1. You select a plan in Short Links

  2. Shopify handles the payment processing

  3. Charges appear on your regular Shopify bill

  4. No separate payment method needed

Approval Process

When upgrading:

  1. Click to select your plan

  2. Shopify displays a charge confirmation

  3. Review the amount and billing cycle

  4. Click Approve to confirm

  5. Return to the app with upgraded access

Billing Cycle

Charges typically:

  • Start immediately upon approval

  • Recur monthly or annually based on plan

  • Appear on your Shopify invoice

  • Can be managed through Shopify Admin

What Happens After Upgrading

Once your upgrade is approved, changes take effect immediately:

Instant Access

  • Reports page is immediately accessible

  • UTM Passthrough appears in Settings

  • Dashboard shows full analytics metrics

  • All paid features unlock

No Data Loss

  • All your existing links remain intact

  • Historical click data (if any) becomes visible

  • Settings and configurations unchanged

Confirmation

You may see:

  • Success message in the app

  • Email confirmation from Shopify

  • Updated plan indicator in Settings

Managing Your Subscription

After upgrading, manage your subscription through:

In the App

  • Settings > Billing shows current plan

  • Options to change or cancel

In Shopify Admin

  • Settings > Billing > App subscriptions

  • View all app charges

  • Cancel or manage subscriptions

Changing Plans

To switch between paid plans:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing

  2. Select a different plan

  3. Approve the change

  4. New pricing takes effect at next billing cycle

Canceling

If you need to downgrade:

  1. Cancel through Shopify Admin or app Settings

  2. Access continues until billing period ends

  3. Reverts to free plan after period expires

  4. Links continue working; analytics access removed

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a trial period?

Check the pricing page for current trial offers. Some plans may include a free trial period.

Can I get a refund?

Refund policies are handled by Shopify. Contact Shopify support for billing issues.

What if I cancel?

Your links continue working. You lose access to analytics and paid features but links remain active.

Do I lose data if I downgrade?

Click data is preserved. You just can’t access reports. If you upgrade again, historical data is available.
