When enabled, products that a customer has already looked at display a small badge on collection pages, search results, and other product grids. This helps customers quickly find products they’re interested in without having to remember which ones they’ve seen.
The badge appears on product cards throughout your store, not just in the Recently Viewed Products widget.
Enabling the Badge
Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize
Click App embeds in the left sidebar
Click Social Proof to expand its settings
Check Show ‘Previously Viewed’ badge on product cards
Click Save
Customizing the Badge
Badge text — Change what the badge says. The default is “Previously Viewed” but you can use something shorter like “Viewed” or friendlier like “You looked at this”.
Position — Choose where the badge appears on the product image: top left, top right, bottom left, or bottom right.
Colors — Set the background color and text color to match your store’s design.
Size and styling — Adjust the font size, padding, and text case (uppercase, lowercase, capitalize).
Handling Conflicts
If your theme already shows badges on products (like “Sale” or “New Arrival”), enable Hide if product already has a badge to only show the Previously Viewed badge on products that don’t have another badge displayed.
