Install Pasilobus Social Proof from the Shopify App Store. Click Add app, review the permissions, and click Install app.
After installation, the setup guide walks you through enabling the app and adding widgets to your theme.
Enable the App Embed
The app embed powers the core tracking and the recent purchase popup. To enable it:
Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify admin
Click Customize on your theme
Click App embeds in the left sidebar
Find Social Proof and toggle it ON
Click Save
Add Social Proof Blocks
Add any combination of these blocks to your product page template:
Live Visitor Count — shows how many people are viewing the product
Cart Activity — shows how many people added it to their cart
Sales Count Badge — shows how many were sold recently
Recently Viewed Products — shows products the customer browsed before
To add a block:
In the theme editor, navigate to a product page
Click Add block in the section where you want the widget
Select the block from the app section
Adjust styling in the block settings
Click Save
The Recent Purchases Popup is enabled separately as an app embed (step 1 above) and appears on all pages automatically.
Customer Account Page (Optional)
If you use Shopify’s new customer accounts, a Recently Viewed page is added automatically where customers can see their browsing history across devices.
Verify Installation
Open your store in an incognito browser window
Browse a few products
Check that the widgets appear on product pages
The recently viewed widget should show the products you just browsed
