Understanding Galleries
Galleries are collections of videos that you display on your store. Each gallery has a unique ID that you use to show videos in your theme.
Gallery Types
There are two ways to populate a gallery with videos:
Auto-sync (All Videos) - Automatically includes all videos from a source - New videos are added automatically when synced - Best for showcasing your entire channel or playlist
Manual Selection - You choose which specific videos to include - Videos don’t change unless you edit the gallery - Best for curated collections or featured videos
Creating a Gallery
Create Your First Gallery
Navigate to Galleries in the app
Click Create Gallery
Enter a Gallery Name (e.g., “Homepage Videos” or “Product Tutorials”)
Optionally add a Description for your reference
Select a YouTube Source from your connected channels/playlists
Choose Video Selection Method
All Videos (Auto-sync) 1. Select the “All Videos (Auto-sync)” option 2. All videos from the source will be included 3. Click Create Gallery
Selected Videos 1. Select the “Selected Videos” option 2. Click Select Videos 3. In the picker, check the videos you want to include 4. Click Done to confirm your selection 5. Click Create Gallery
Tip: Use auto-sync for channels where you want all content displayed. Use manual selection for curated collections like “Best of” or “Featured” videos.
Managing Galleries
Edit a Gallery
Go to Galleries and click on the gallery you want to edit
Click Edit
Update the name, description, source, or video selection
Click Update Gallery
View Gallery Videos
Go to Galleries and click on a gallery
You’ll see all videos currently in the gallery
Videos are ordered by published date (newest first)
Delete a Gallery
Go to Galleries and click on the gallery
Click Delete
Confirm the deletion
Note: Deleting a gallery doesn’t delete the videos from your source. The videos remain available for other galleries. However, any theme blocks using this gallery ID will show an empty state.
Using Gallery IDs
Every gallery has a unique Gallery ID (e.g., gal_abc123). You’ll need this ID to display the gallery in your theme.
Find Your Gallery ID
Go to Galleries and click on a gallery
The Gallery ID is displayed on the gallery page
Click Copy to copy it to your clipboard
Where to Use the Gallery ID
The Gallery ID is used in the Shopify theme editor:
Open your theme editor
Add or select a Video Gallery block
Paste the Gallery ID in the Gallery ID field
Save your changes
