Cleaning up galleries and images is straightforward, but because images are shared across galleries, it’s worth understanding what stays and what goes. The app is conservative by default: deleting a gallery doesn’t delete images that other galleries are using, so you can’t accidentally break a different gallery.
Deleting a Gallery
To remove a gallery you no longer need:
Open the gallery from the Galleries list.
Click Delete in the top right.
Confirm the action - You’ll see a confirmation dialog explaining what will happen.
Images shared with other galleries are kept - Only images used solely in the deleted gallery are removed. Any image still in another gallery stays in your library.
Any pages using this gallery’s ID will go empty - The blocks remain in your theme, but they’ll show nothing until you change the Gallery ID to a different gallery (or remove the blocks).
Removing an Image from One Gallery
If you want to take an image out of a gallery without deleting it from your library:
Open the gallery.
Hover over the image - Two icons appear in the top-right corner of the tile: edit and remove.
Click the remove icon - The image leaves this gallery straight away, no Save needed. It stays in your library and in any other gallery that uses it.
This is the right action when you’re swapping content out of a gallery — for example, retiring a seasonal photo from your homepage gallery but keeping it available for a future “Throwback” gallery.
Bulk Deleting Images from Your Library
To permanently delete one or more images from your entire library:
Open the image library - Click the Images tile on the dashboard.
Select images - Tap the images you want to delete (or use a select-all option if you’re cleaning out a lot at once).
Click Delete - The selected images are permanently removed from every gallery they appeared in.
Storage is freed up immediately, so you can upload new images right away.
Use bulk delete when you’re cleaning out old uploads — leftover test images, retired campaigns, products that are no longer in your catalogue.
What Happens to Storefront Pages
When you delete images that are used on the storefront:
The block stays in your theme but renders fewer images (or an empty gallery if you deleted them all).
Visitors won’t see error messages — the block simply skips images that no longer exist.
Hard-refresh your storefront to confirm the change took effect (browsers often cache images aggressively).
If a gallery is empty after deletion, the block won’t display anything on the storefront. You can either delete the block from your theme or add fresh images to the gallery in the app.
