Uploading images is the fastest path from “I have photos” to “they’re live on my store.” Every gallery page takes drag-and-drop or file picker selections, and processes them in the background so you can keep working while large files finish. You can also pull images straight from a Shopify collection instead of uploading them at all.
Uploading from Your Computer
You can add images while creating a gallery or at any time afterwards:
On a new gallery - The create screen has a drop zone under the settings. Files start uploading immediately and are attached when you click Create gallery.
On an empty gallery - The same drop zone fills the images card until the first image lands.
On a gallery that already has images - Click Upload images in the images card toolbar to open a file picker. Hold Cmd or Ctrl to select several files at once.
Drag and drop onto the drop zone - Drag files (one or many) from Finder, Explorer, or your desktop straight into it.
Watch the previews appear - Each file shows a preview tile as it uploads, so you can see what’s been added before saving.
Click Save - The save bar at the top of the page (or the Save button in the settings card) commits the uploads along with any settings you changed. Until you save, the images aren’t attached yet.
Importing from a Shopify Collection
If the images you want are already on your products, you don’t need to download and re-upload them:
Click Import from Collection in the images card toolbar.
Pick a collection from the Shopify picker.
The import runs in the background - Every product image in that collection is fetched and added to the gallery.
Refresh the page after a moment to see them appear. Large collections take longer.
Imported images join your shared library like any upload, and count towards your storage.
Supported File Types
Image Gallery accepts the file types most stores use:
JPG / JPEG - Best for photos.
PNG - Best for graphics with transparency.
GIF - Animated GIFs are supported.
WebP - Modern format with smaller file sizes.
SVG - For logos and vector artwork.
There’s no fixed file size limit, but very large images take longer to upload and process. For best storefront performance, export photos at the dimensions you actually need (most gallery layouts look great at 1200-1600 px wide).
Storage Usage
The drop zone shows how much storage you have left on your plan. Each upload counts toward your storage quota.
Free plan - Storage is limited.
Paid plans - More storage. Visit Plans in the app to see the exact amount included with each plan.
Removing images frees up the storage they were using.
What Happens After Upload
Uploaded images are saved to your shared image library, not just the gallery you uploaded them to. This means:
New images land at the end of the gallery - Drag any tile to move it; the new order saves on its own, without waiting for the Save button.
You can reuse the same image in other galleries without uploading it again.
Removing an image from one gallery doesn’t delete it from the library — it stays available for other galleries.
Editing the title, alt text, or description on an image updates it everywhere the image appears.
