Installing from the App Store
Visit the Photolock app listing on the Shopify App Store
Click Add app to begin the installation
Review the permissions and click Install app
Enabling the App Block
After installing, you need to enable Photolock on your theme:
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes
Click Customize on your active theme
In the theme editor, click App embeds (the puzzle piece icon in the sidebar)
Find Photolock and toggle it On
Click Save
Alternatively, open the Photolock app and use the Theme Setup section on the Settings page to check your installation status and open the theme editor directly.
Verifying Protection is Active
To confirm protection is working:
Open your store in a new browser tab (not the theme editor)
Try right-clicking on an image — the context menu should be blocked
Try dragging an image — it should not be draggable
If you’re testing in the theme editor, protection is intentionally disabled so you can still use the editor normally. Always test on your live store or preview.
Default Settings
New installs start with Right-Click Lock enabled by default. All other protections are off, letting you enable only the features you need.
To configure additional protections, go to Settings in the Photolock app and explore the protection categories: Content Protection, Image Protection, Screen Capture, Bots & Crawlers, and Warnings.
