Dashboard Numbers Look Wrong

If the dashboard KPIs or Stock Health breakdown look off — too high, too low, or mostly zero — the cause is usually one of four things. Work through them in order.

If the dashboard KPIs or Stock Health breakdown look off — too high, too low, or mostly zero — the cause is usually one of four things. Work through them in order.

Sales Data Still Backfilling

On install, Stock Control pulls 90 days of order history in the background. Velocity, days of stock, Reorder Now, and Dead Stock all depend on that data — so they stay empty until the backfill completes.

Signs: Sales (30d) KPI shows 0; Dead Stock shows 0; Reorder Now and Low Stock are empty even though you know some variants are running low.

What to do: wait 15–30 minutes for the backfill to finish, then refresh. If it’s been a day and these numbers are still empty, something’s gone wrong — contact support.

Variants Marked Untracked in Shopify

Stock Control excludes any variant with Track inventory turned off in Shopify. If you’ve got listing-only products (e.g. services, custom builds, digital downloads), they won’t appear in the Tracked SKUs count, Stock Health breakdown, or Inventory page.

Signs: Tracked SKUs is much lower than your total variant count; specific variants you expect to see are missing from the inventory list.

What to do: check the variant in Shopify admin — Products > (the variant) > Track inventory. If it’s off and should be on, turn it on. The variant will appear in Stock Control within a few minutes once the webhook fires.

Products Archived or in Draft

Only active products are counted. Archived and draft products are excluded from every KPI and from the Inventory page.

Signs: you know a product has stock, but it’s not showing anywhere in Stock Control.

What to do: in Shopify admin, check the product’s status. Set it to Active if it’s being sold.

Duplicated or Multi-Location Variants

Every KPI sums across all locations. If you have one variant with 10 units at three locations, it shows as 30 on-hand — that’s correct, not a bug.

Signs: on-hand per variant looks higher than any single location would explain.

What to do: click the variant to open the drawer — it shows a per-location breakdown. If one location is wrong, edit the on-hand there directly or record an adjustment.

Still Wrong?

If none of the above explains what you’re seeing, it may be a genuine sync gap. Try these in order:

  • Wait a few minutes — webhook processing can briefly lag during high-volume periods

  • Refresh the dashboard

  • Open the variant’s drawer and confirm the per-location on-hand matches Shopify admin

  • If they differ, that’s a sync bug worth reporting — contact support with the variant’s SKU
