Stock Take is a complete inventory management app for Shopify merchants. It covers the full cycle — ordering from suppliers, receiving stock, counting what’s on your shelves, and moving inventory between locations — all from within Shopify Admin.

Purchase Orders

Create purchase orders to track what you’ve ordered from each supplier, how much it costs, and what’s been received. When stock arrives, you receive it directly against the purchase order so your inventory updates and your order history stays accurate.

You can add products to a PO by searching, scanning barcodes, or importing a CSV for large orders. Once sent to your supplier, mark it as Ordered to lock it, then move to Receiving when the delivery arrives.

Receiving Stock

When a delivery arrives, open a receiving session and scan products as you unpack them. The quantities are added to your Shopify inventory at the location you choose. If you’re receiving against a purchase order, the app shows what was ordered vs what you’ve scanned, so you can spot shortages straight away.

Inventory Counts

Run a stock count to check that what’s physically on your shelves matches what Shopify shows. The app loads your expected quantities, you scan what’s actually there, and any discrepancies are highlighted — overages in green, shortages in red. When you’re happy with the count, commit it and Shopify updates automatically.

You can count everything at a location, or filter to a specific vendor or product tag for a targeted partial count.

Transfers

Move stock between your Shopify locations — for example, from a warehouse to a retail store. Scan items as you pack them at the source location, then scan again when they arrive at the destination. The app handles both sides of the transfer and keeps both location inventories accurate.

Suppliers

Keep a directory of all the vendors you order from, with contact details, account numbers, and payment terms. Link suppliers to purchase orders to track your full ordering history with each vendor.

How Scanning Works

Every workflow in the app uses barcode scanning. You can scan with your phone or tablet camera, connect a Bluetooth or USB scanner for faster high-volume work, or search by product name or SKU if you don’t have a barcode to hand.

Nothing is sent to Shopify until you tap Commit — so you can scan, review, and correct before anything changes in your store.
