Rules

Exclude specific pages, markets, or customers from protection

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

Rules let you control where and for whom protection is active. You can exclude specific products, collections, markets, or customer groups from protection. Rules require the Premium plan.

Page Filtering

Page filtering lets you exclude specific products or collections from protection. This is useful when you want certain pages to remain unprotected β€” for example, a product with images you want customers to share freely.

Enabling Page Filtering

  1. Go to Settings > Rules

  2. Toggle on Enable page filter

  3. Click Save

Excluding Products

  1. In the Excluded Products section, click Add Products

  2. Use the Shopify product picker to select products

  3. Selected products appear in the exclusion list

Protection will be completely disabled on these product pages.

Excluding Collections

  1. In the Excluded Collections section, click Add Collections

  2. Select the collections to exclude

All products in excluded collections will be unprotected β€” both on the collection page and on individual product pages within that collection.

Removing Exclusions

Click the X icon next to any product or collection to remove it from the exclusion list and restore protection.

Market Filter

If your store serves multiple Shopify Markets (e.g., different countries or regions), you can limit protection to specific markets.

Options

Setting

Behavior

All markets

Protection is active in every market (default)

Specific markets

Protection only applies in the markets you select

Configuring Market Filtering

  1. Go to Settings > Rules

  2. Under Market Filter, select Specific markets

  3. Click Select markets and choose the markets where protection should be active

  4. Click Save

Visitors browsing from markets not in your list will not see any protection.

Customer Rules

Control which customers are excluded from protection. This is helpful when you want to protect content from anonymous visitors but allow logged-in customers or wholesale buyers full access.

Options

Setting

Behavior

All visitors

Protection applies to everyone (default)

Exclude logged-in customers

Protection is disabled for any logged-in customer

Exclude customers with specific tags

Protection is disabled for customers with matching tags

Using Customer Tags

  1. Go to Settings > Rules

  2. Under Customer Rules, select Exclude customers with specific tags

  3. Enter tags separated by commas (e.g., wholesale, vip, partner)

  4. Click Save

Tags are case-insensitive β€” Wholesale and wholesale are treated the same.
