Quick Access Icon

The quick access icon gives customers a persistent way to access their wishlist from anywhere on your store.

Updated this week

The quick access widget keeps customers’ wishlists just one click away, no matter where they are on your store. This persistent button serves as a constant reminder that they have saved items waiting—encouraging return visits and purchases.

What is Quick Access and Why It Matters

Customers save items but often forget about them. The quick access widget solves this by keeping the wishlist visible throughout their shopping session. When customers see “3 items saved” floating in the corner or in the header, they’re reminded of products they were interested in.

This visibility drives engagement:

  • Customers check their wishlist more often

  • Saved items stay top of mind

  • Return visits to complete purchases increase

Floating Icon

The floating icon is an always-visible button that stays in a corner of the screen as customers scroll:

  • Position options - Bottom-right, bottom-left, or side positions

  • Always accessible - Visible on every page without taking up navigation space

  • Item count badge - Shows how many items are saved

The floating icon works well for stores that want the wishlist prominently featured without modifying their theme’s header.

Header Icon

The header icon integrates with your store’s existing navigation:

  • Natural placement - Appears alongside cart and account icons

  • Theme integration - Matches your header’s style automatically

  • Cleaner look - No floating elements on the page

Choose header placement if you prefer a more integrated appearance or if a floating button conflicts with other elements on your site.

Choosing the Right Position

Consider your store’s layout and customer behavior:

  • Use floating icon if your header is already crowded or if you want maximum visibility

  • Use header icon if you prefer a cleaner page layout or your customers expect navigation icons in the header

  • Test both to see which drives more wishlist engagement for your specific audience

Icon Style Options

Customize the widget to match your brand:

  • Heart - Classic wishlist icon, universally recognized

  • Star - Alternative for “favorites” terminology

  • Bookmark - Good for stores using “save for later” language

  • Gift - Works well for gift registry use cases

  • Plus - Minimal, modern option

Configure the icon style in the theme editor under the Wishlist app embed settings.

What Happens When Customers Click

You can configure what happens when customers click the quick access widget:

  • Modal preview - Opens a popup showing saved items with quick links. Customers can browse their wishlist without leaving their current page.

  • Page navigation - Takes customers directly to the full wishlist page. Better for customers who prefer the complete wishlist experience.

The modal preview is great for quick checks, while page navigation suits customers who want to review and manage their full list.

Mobile Behavior

On mobile devices, the quick access widget adapts:

  • Floating icon - Repositions to avoid interfering with thumb navigation zones

  • Header icon - May move into the mobile menu or remain in a sticky header, depending on your theme

  • Touch-friendly - Tap targets are sized appropriately for mobile interaction

Both options remain accessible on mobile, ensuring customers can always reach their wishlist regardless of device.
