Video Sync Issues

Fix video syncing problems

Updated this week

New Videos Not Appearing

Symptom: You uploaded a new video to YouTube, but it doesn’t show in the app.

Possible causes: - Sync hasn’t run yet - Auto-sync is disabled - Video is private or unlisted

Solutions:

  1. Manually sync the source:

    • Go to Sources in the app

    • Click on the channel or playlist

    • Click the Sync button

    • Wait for sync to complete

  2. Check sync settings:

    • Go to Settings

    • Verify that Video Sync is enabled

    • Check your sync frequency setting

  3. Verify video visibility:

    • On YouTube, ensure the video is set to Public

    • Private and unlisted videos cannot be synced

  4. Wait for processing:

    • YouTube can take time to fully process new uploads

    • Try syncing again after the video is fully available on YouTube

Sync Frequency: Depending on your plan, videos sync automatically every 1-24 hours. Use manual sync to get new videos immediately.

Videos in Source But Not Gallery

Symptom: Videos appear in your source but don’t show in a gallery.

Possible causes: - Gallery uses manual selection (not auto-sync) - Gallery is connected to a different source - Video limit reached on your plan

Solutions:

  1. Check gallery type:

    • Go to Galleries and click on the gallery

    • Look at the Type badge:

      • Auto-sync: Should include all videos from the source

      • Manual: You need to add videos manually

  2. For manual galleries, add videos:

    • Edit the gallery

    • Click Select Videos

    • Check the videos you want to include

    • Save the gallery

  3. Verify the source connection:

    • Edit the gallery

    • Confirm it’s connected to the correct source

    • Change the source if needed

  4. Check video limits:

    • Your plan may limit how many videos can be displayed

    • Go to your dashboard to see video usage

    • Upgrade your plan to display more videos

Manual vs Auto-Sync Differences

Understanding how each gallery type handles videos:

Auto-Sync Galleries

  • Automatically include all videos from the source

  • New videos appear after the next sync

  • Videos are removed if deleted from YouTube

  • Order follows source order (typically by publish date)

Best for: Showing all content from a channel or playlist

Manual Selection Galleries

  • You choose exactly which videos appear

  • New source videos are NOT automatically added

  • Videos remain until you remove them manually

  • You control the display order

Best for: Curated collections, featured videos, specific selections

Sync Status Indicators

Check sync status in the app:

Status

Meaning

Active

Sync is enabled and running on schedule

Paused

Sync is disabled in Settings

Syncing

Currently fetching new videos

Error

Problem occurred during last sync

If you see Error, try: 1. Manual sync to see the specific error 2. Reconnecting your YouTube account 3. Checking the source still exists on YouTube

Force a Full Resync

If videos seem out of sync:

  1. Go to Sources

  2. Click on the problematic source

  3. Click Sync to fetch the latest videos

  4. Check your gallery to confirm videos appear correctly

Deleted YouTube videos: If a video is deleted or made private on YouTube, it will remain in your gallery until the next sync. After syncing, unavailable videos are automatically removed.
