Auto-Sync Settings

Configure automatic video syncing from YouTube

Updated this week

What is Auto-Sync?

Auto-sync automatically fetches new videos from your connected YouTube sources at regular intervals. When you upload a new video to YouTube, it will appear in your galleries without any manual action.

Enabling Auto-Sync

  1. Go to Settings in the app

  2. Find the Video Sync section

  3. Toggle Auto-Sync to ON

  4. Select your preferred sync frequency

Sync Timing: Auto-sync runs in the background. The exact timing depends on when the sync cycle runs, so new videos may take up to the full interval to appear.

What Happens During Sync

When a sync runs, the app:

  1. Checks each source - Connects to YouTube to fetch the latest video list

  2. Identifies new videos - Compares with existing videos to find new ones

  3. Downloads metadata - Gets titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and publish dates

  4. Updates galleries - Adds new videos to auto-sync galleries

  5. Removes deleted videos - If a video was deleted or made private on YouTube, it’s removed from galleries

Manual Sync

You can trigger a sync manually at any time:

  1. Go to Sources

  2. Click on a channel or playlist

  3. Click the Sync button

Manual sync is useful when: - You just uploaded a video and want it to appear immediately - You want to verify your source is connected properly - Auto-sync is disabled but you need occasional updates

Auto-Sync vs Manual Galleries

Auto-sync galleries automatically include all videos from their source. New videos appear after the next sync.

Manual galleries require you to select which videos appear. New videos from the source are NOT automatically added.

Choose auto-sync galleries when you want all videos from a source. Choose manual galleries when you want to curate specific videos.

Disabling Auto-Sync

To disable auto-sync:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Toggle Auto-Sync to OFF

When disabled: - No automatic syncing occurs - Existing videos remain in your galleries - You can still sync manually when needed

Paused Sync: If auto-sync is disabled for an extended period, your galleries may become out of date. Videos deleted or made private on YouTube will still appear until you run a manual sync.

Sync Status

Common Questions

Why don’t I see my new video? - Wait for the next auto-sync cycle based on your plan - Or trigger a manual sync to get it immediately - Ensure the video is set to Public on YouTube

Can I sync more frequently? - Upgrade your plan for faster sync intervals - Use manual sync for immediate updates

Does sync use my YouTube API quota? - No, the app uses its own API quota - Your personal YouTube account quota is not affected
