App Not Activated in Theme

Symptom: The Video Gallery block doesn’t appear in the theme editor, or blocks don’t render on the storefront.

Cause: The app embed is not enabled in your theme.

Solution: 1. Open your theme editor 2. Click Theme settings (gear icon) in the sidebar 3. Click App embeds 4. Find YouTube Gallery in the list 5. Toggle it ON 6. Click Save

Changed themes recently? You need to activate the app embed in each theme separately. If you switched to a new theme, repeat the activation steps.

Theme Compatibility

Symptom: The block appears but videos don’t load or display incorrectly.

Possible causes: - Theme JavaScript conflicts - Custom CSS overriding gallery styles - Older theme version

Solutions:

  1. Test in a different browser:

    • Try Chrome, Firefox, or Safari

    • Disable browser extensions that might block scripts

  2. Check for JavaScript errors:

    • Open browser Developer Tools (F12 or right-click > Inspect)

    • Go to the Console tab

    • Look for red error messages related to YouTube Gallery

  3. Check theme CSS conflicts:

    • Inspect the gallery element

    • Look for CSS rules overriding the gallery styles

    • Add custom CSS to fix conflicts if needed

  4. Update your theme:

    • Some older themes may have compatibility issues

    • Check for theme updates in your Shopify admin

Debug Information

When the gallery is empty, expand the Debug Info section in the theme editor to see: - Gallery ID being used - Whether the gallery was found - Number of videos in the gallery - Any error messages
