The Recently Viewed app provides comprehensive analytics to help you understand customer behavior, track product performance, and measure the impact of your widget on customer engagement.

Accessing Analytics

There are two main analytics views in the app:

Dashboard Metrics

Location: Dashboard (main page after login)

Quick overview showing:

  • Active Customers (Last 30 Days)

  • Active Customers Today

  • Views Today

Product Analytics

Location: Analytics (sidebar navigation)

Detailed breakdown showing:

  • Individual product performance

  • Views, clicks, and click rates per product

  • Date range filtering

  • Performance trends

Dashboard Metrics Explained

Active Customers (Last 30 Days)

What it measures: Unique customers who viewed products in the last 30 days

Why it matters:

  • Shows your overall reach and engagement

  • Indicates widget adoption by your customer base

  • Used for billing on usage-based plans

Example:

Active Customers: 1,247 (last 30 days)

This means 1,247 unique customers browsed products and were tracked by the widget in the past month.

What's a good number?

  • Small store (<100 daily visitors): 500-1,500 monthly

  • Medium store (100-500 daily visitors): 1,500-10,000 monthly

  • Large store (500+ daily visitors): 10,000+ monthly

Trends to watch:

  • Steady growth = Increasing traffic and engagement

  • Sudden drops = Check if widget is working properly

  • Seasonal patterns = Normal for many businesses

Active Customers Today

What it measures: Unique customers who viewed products today, compared to yesterday

Why it matters:

  • Real-time indicator of current traffic

  • Shows day-to-day performance

  • Helps identify issues quickly

Display Format:

Active Customers Today: 42 ↑ +23%
  • 42: Unique customers today

  • ↑ +23%: 23% increase compared to yesterday

  • Green ↑ = increase, Red ↓ = decrease

Understanding the change percentage:

+15% or higher (Green ↑):

  • Great day! Higher than usual traffic

  • Could be due to promotions, marketing, or weekend

-15% to +15% (No badge):

  • Normal day-to-day variation

  • Expected fluctuation

-15% or lower (Red ↓):

  • Lower traffic than yesterday

  • Check if it's a weekday vs weekend comparison

  • Verify widget is working properly

Day-of-week considerations:

  • Monday vs Monday comparisons are more meaningful than Sunday vs Monday

  • Weekends typically have higher traffic than weekdays

  • Use 7-day trends instead of daily comparisons

Views Today

What it measures: Total number of product views tracked today, compared to yesterday

Why it matters:

  • Indicates how actively customers are browsing

  • Shows product discovery behavior

  • Higher views = more engaged customers

Display Format:

Views Today: 312 ↑ +18%
  • 312: Total product views today

  • ↑ +18%: 18% increase compared to yesterday

Calculating engagement:

Views Today ÷ Active Customers Today = Avg views per customer 312 ÷ 42 = 7.4 views per customer

Benchmarks for views per customer:

  • 2-4 views: Light browsing, casual visitors

  • 5-7 views: Good engagement, typical shopping behavior

  • 8+ views: High engagement, serious shoppers

What affects this metric:

  • Product page placement (more visible = more views)

  • Homepage placement (returning visitors see it)

  • Time of day (afternoon/evening = peak browsing)

  • Day of week (weekends = more browsing time)

  • Marketing campaigns (email/ads drive traffic)

Interpreting Click Rates

Click rate is the most important metric for widget effectiveness.

What Click Rate Tells You

High Click Rate (5%+):

  • ✅ Product images are appealing

  • ✅ Pricing is competitive

  • ✅ Product is desirable to customers

  • ✅ Widget placement is effective

Low Click Rate (<2%): Investigate these potential issues:

  1. Poor product image: Update with higher quality photos

  2. High price: Check if pricing is competitive

  3. Out of stock: Verify product availability

  4. Weak title: Improve product name clarity

  5. Widget placement: Is widget visible enough?
