Updated this week

Back in Stock handles the full process of collecting customer interest and sending restock emails — so you don’t have to do it manually.

The Customer Journey

  • A customer visits a product page and finds their preferred size or variant is sold out.

  • They click “Notify me when available” and enter their email address.

  • They receive a quick confirmation email to verify their signup.

  • Their request is saved in your Alert Requests list inside the app.

When a Product Restocks

  • When you update inventory in Shopify and a variant goes from out of stock to in stock, the app detects the change.

  • All customers who signed up for that variant get an email letting them know it’s available again.

  • The email includes a direct link back to the product so they can buy straight away.

  • If you’ve set up an Alert Offer, a discount code is included in the email to give customers an extra nudge to purchase.

After the Notification

  • Once a customer is notified, their request is marked as fulfilled.

  • You can see who was notified, whether they opened the email, and whether they clicked through — all in the Deliveries section.

  • If a customer no longer wants to be notified, they can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email.
