Multiple Messages

Announcement bars are not limited to a single line of text. You can add several messages to one bar and let visitors see all of them without cluttering the page. This is useful when you have more than one promotion, shipping notice, or update to share at the same time.

Adding Messages

Open an announcement bar in the editor and click the Add Message button below the existing message fields. A new message block appears with its own body text, link settings, and countdown settings. You can add as many messages as you need.

Each message is independent: it can link to a different URL, have its own countdown timer, and carry its own set of translations.

How Messages Rotate

The way visitors move between messages depends on the announcement style you have selected:

  • Classic – Left and right navigation arrows appear on the bar. Visitors click to browse between messages at their own pace.

  • Fade – Messages cross-fade automatically on a timer. No manual navigation is needed.

  • Running Line – All messages scroll continuously from right to left, separated by a dot character ( · ). Every message is visible in the scrolling ticker.

  • Typed – Messages are typed out on screen one character at a time. When one message finishes, the next one begins automatically.

Countdown Bars

Bars that use the Countdown style only support a single message. The Add Message button is not available for this style because the countdown timer occupies the full width of the bar.

Removing a Message

When a bar has more than one message, each message block shows a Remove button. Click it to delete that message. The button is hidden when only one message remains, because every bar needs at least one message.

Tips

  • Keep each message concise. There is a 64-character limit per message to make sure text displays well on all screen sizes.

  • Put the most important message first. In Classic and Fade styles it is the one visitors see on load.

  • Preview the bar after adding messages to make sure the rotation or scrolling feels right for your store.
