Pricing & Quantity

Control how your product options affect pricing and manage quantity behavior for add-ons and customizations. These settings help you monetize customization and control how quantities are handled in the cart.

Updated this week

⚠️ Pricing & Quantity Settings require a Growth plan or higher.

Overview

Pricing & Quantity Settings allow you to:

  • Add prices to individual option values

  • Attach Shopify products to option selections

  • Control quantity behavior for add-ons

  • Set fixed quantities or let customers choose

  • Manage how zero-price options display quantity fields

Setting Prices for Option Values

How Pricing Works

For options with multiple values (Dropdown, Radio Button, Swatches, Checkbox), you can set individual prices for each value.

Steps to set pricing:

  1. Go to your option in the Option Values section

  2. Scroll to Pricing & Quantity Settings

  3. Each option value appears as a row with:

    • Thumbnail: Upload an image (optional)

    • Value name: The option value text

    • Price field: Enter the price in dollars

    • Select price button: Attach a Shopify product/variant

Price Field

Assign a dollar amount that will be added when the customer selects this option value.

Examples:

  • Size "Large": +$5.00

  • Add Gift Wrapping: +$2.99

  • Express Shipping: +$15.00

  • Engraving: +$10.00

Price behavior:

  • Prices add to the main product cost

  • Displays to customers on the storefront

  • Can be positive (adds cost) or zero (no additional cost)

  • Respects "Merge to Product" setting from Cart & Checkout Display

Select Price Button

Instead of entering a manual price, attach a Shopify product or variant. This pulls:

  • The product's current price

  • Product inventory tracking

  • Variant-specific pricing

When to use:

  • Add-on products (warranty, accessories)

  • Items with inventory you need to track

  • Products with variants (size, color)

  • Items that already exist in your Shopify catalog

Benefits:

  • Automatic price updates when product price changes

  • Inventory sync with Shopify

  • Product images automatically pulled

  • Supports variant-specific pricing

Quantity Behavior

Control how quantities work when customers add options to their cart.

Add Once Only

The option is added one time regardless of main product quantity.

Use for:

  • Gift wrapping (one wrap per order)

  • Engraving (one engraving per item)

  • Setup fees

  • Per-order services

Example: Customer orders 5 t-shirts with gift wrapping. Gift wrap is added once, not 5 times.

Match Main Product Quantity

Option quantity automatically matches the main product's quantity.

Use for:

  • Size-specific add-ons

  • Per-item customizations

  • Accessories that scale with product quantity

Example: Customer orders 3 t-shirts with custom printing. Custom printing is added 3 times (once per shirt).

Fixed Custom Quantity

Set a specific quantity that doesn't change regardless of main product quantity.

Use for:

  • Multi-packs (buy 3 stickers with any product)

  • Bundle deals (includes 2 batteries)

  • Fixed add-on quantities

Example: Customer orders 1 camera with "Battery Pack (2 units)". Exactly 2 batteries are added, not 1.

When selected, a Quantity field appears where you can set the fixed amount (1-99).

Let Customer Choose Quantity

Customer can select how many of this option they want using a quantity selector.

Use for:

  • Optional add-ons customers might want multiple of

  • Accessories with flexible quantities

  • Extra items with volume needs

Example: Customer orders 1 printer and chooses to add 3 toner cartridges.

Additional setting available:

  • Show Quantity for Zero Price Options: When enabled, quantity field appears even when the selected option value has a $0.00 price

  • Consider using "Match main product quantity" for per-item customizations

Don't:

  • Set prices without testing the cart flow

  • Mix quantity behaviors inconsistently across similar options

Tips

  • Use attached products for items with variants (size, color)

  • "Add once only" is most common for services

  • "Match main product quantity" works well for customizations

  • Test quantity behavior with different cart scenarios

  • Consider using option descriptions to explain pricing
