Social networks enforce character limitations and each time you create a post, Comity will validate this for you automatically.

Limits:

  • Facebook: 5000
  • Twitter: 280
  • Linkedin: 1300
  • Mastodon: 500
  • Pinterest: 500

When posting to multiple profiles, Comity will enforce the lowest character limit of selected profiles. For example, if you try to share to Facebook & Twitter at the same time, you can only type up to 280 characters. If you try to share to Facebook & Linkedin, then the limit will become 1300. You can overcome this limitation by customizing posts after you schedule.

Mentions & Hashtags

You can increase engagement for your social media by using mentions & hashtags.

The mention you type will be transferred to the social networks. However, we don't have mention suggestions for social networks at the moment. For this reason, you would need to know the exact handle you'd like to include, for example, "@username". Once published, the account you mentioned will become hyperlinked in the social network.

Post editor will detect any #hashtag you add to your message, and they will become hyperlinked in both Comity and any social network.

You can also use the "Hashtag Manager" to avoid typing hashtags every time you create a post.
