Updated today

Preset quantities replace the standard +/- quantity input with a dropdown of fixed options. Instead of letting customers type any number, they choose from a predefined list like 500, 1000, 2500, or 5000.

This is ideal for products sold in specific lot sizes – printing supplies, raw materials, labels, or anything where only certain quantities make sense.

Setting Up Presets

  • Go to Rules and create or edit a rule

  • Enable Preset quantities

  • Enter your values separated by commas (e.g., 500, 1000, 2500, 5000)

  • Save the rule

When to Use Presets vs Range Limits

  • Presets – When only specific quantities are valid (e.g., you only sell in packs of 500, 1000, or 5000)

  • Min/max/step – When any quantity within a range works (e.g., buy between 1 and 100 in multiples of 5)

What the Customer Sees

  • A dropdown replaces the quantity input on the product page

  • The dropdown lists your preset values in order

  • Works across all Shopify themes – the app detects and replaces the native quantity input automatically

Presets and Inventory

If a preset value exceeds available stock, that option is automatically removed from the dropdown. For example, if you set presets of 10, 25, and 50 but only 30 units are in stock, the dropdown shows 10 and 25 only.
